Grettel Salas is an importer of French wines, owner of the wine and chocolate shop located in Playa Hermosa (UVICA), and owner of the Catalinas Fines wines and Chocolates in Las Catalinas / Guanacaste
Chris Christensen is the co-owner of Cata Cacao, a bean-to-bar chocolate maker in Playas del Coco and Bijagua de Upala. Our existing businesses lend us credibility and a network of loyal customers.
Sommelier graduated from the EAS Argentine School of Sommeliers. She did his practice with the best sommelier in the world in 1992, Philippe Faure - Brac, in Paris, France, being part of his team of sommeliers. innovative in its virtual tastings from France to Costa Rica at the beginning of the pandemic and even today. She then imports and represents Ardèche wines in France, providing the pleasure of knowing modern and elegant wines. Creator of the Uvica importer and wine shop, as well as Coraline Bistro in Guanacaste, training, and consulting.
As a sommelier, Grettel is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional who loves to teach people by pairing and suggesting wines that will best complement, in this case, our chocolate.
My love for wine began as a curiosity and evolved into a lifelong mission. Over the years, I have immersed myself in the fascinating world of wines, learning from the best, exploring renowned wineries, and sharing this passion with wine enthusiasts in Costa Rica.

My journey began with training at the Escuela Argentina de Sommeliers (EAS), where I honed my skills and deepened my knowledge. I had the honor of working with Philippe Faure-Brac in Paris, one of the most renowned sommeliers in the world. Since then, I have dedicated myself to selecting and importing exclusive wines, educating others through tastings, and creating unforgettable gastronomic experiences.
